Kakani Hiking

You can also see the natural beauty of the Kathmandu Valley, the people and their culture and traditions. Kakani is located 29km northwest of Kathmandu.The sunrise and sunset are especially impressive. Besides viewing the mountain there is nothing really to do. It is a good idea to stay overnight, because usually the views are better in the morning, before the cloud cover the scenery.There is a strangely ideal combination of the imposing mountain scenery with the more sylvan environment of the lower valleys. Rhododendrons growing wild on the mountain slopes begin to bloom in late winter and stay in bloom for several months, giving the village even more charm.
